Southway is a school that brings hope and confidence to its pupils, helping them become the best they can be. Staff work hard to build strong relationships with pupils.

The school believes that caring for each other is very important. As a result, pupils trust their teachers. They feel at ease asking for help and guidance

The school has high standards for academic success. It creates a space where every pupil is urged to do their best.

Southway Independent School is inspected by Ofsted using the same framework and inspection schedule as mainstream settings. Furthermore, as part of our inspections, Ofsted are required to confirm that Southway meets all the Independent Schools Standards (ISS).

We are very proud of our most recent Ofsted report, July 2025, because we feel it accurately captures the success of our work, which is to provide a rigorous academic programme, along with a rich curriculum, and all the time giving pupils credible hope, and building positive and healthy relationships along the way.
